BG3 Ally with Gortash or Orin
Baldur’s Gate 3 is full of mutually-exclusive choices. Oftentimes, there is no ideal outcome and you won’t be certain what the consequences of your actions are until much later. One of hte most difficult choices in the game is should you ally with Gortash or Orin in BG3. Needless to say, whether you side with Orin or Gortash, there are going to be pros and cons for each option. So which one is the superior choice here? We are going to analyze both choices and their consequences right here.
BG3 Ally with Gortash Choice
If you’re wondering “Should I ally with Gortash“, then you will be happy to learn that there are clear benefits to doing that. If you side with Gortash, practically all of the Steel Watchers and Flaming Fist guards in the city of Baldur’s Gate will not be hostile towards you. Naturally, this will make navigating the city a lot easier. A great option if you don’t want to have to constantly engage in combat with them. Also, while he is by no means a good character, when compared to Orin, he is both much a more stable personality. Not to mention – far less bloodthirsty and evil. Note that your companion Karlach will not appreciate you siding with Gortash, since it was he that sold her off to the devils.
BG3 Side with Orin Option
On the other hand, Orin is the obvious choice if you are playing an evil character. Siding with her will make her Doppelganger assassins much less likely to attack you. Also, if you side with Orin against Gortash, this can make her kidnapping of one of your companions much easier, as all you need to do is to take out Gortash to get them back. She has a very nefarious end-game play for the citizens of Baldur’s Gate, so keep this in mind if you want to ally yourselves with her.
Should You Ally with Gortash or Orin
Basically, this boils down to the sort of character that you want to roleplay as in BG3. If you are not evil and you want to make things easier for yourselves, then Gortash is the better choice here. But if you want to fully embrace evil, then feel free to side with Orin over him. In either case, you will be able to complete the game, so just choose whichever alliance you prefer.
