How to Use SID to Fix the Node in Maintenance Avatar Frontiers

To use the SID to fix the node in Maintenance in the Avatar Frontiers Welcome to the Resistance mission, you first have to use the System Interrogation Device and follow the green cable to the yellow generator. Now you’ll see a wrench icon at the junction box. When you aim the SID at it and hit R2 or RT, two circles will appear. There’s the thin white one that shrinks and expands depending on how hard you press the button, and a green one that you have to match with the white circle. This is where most people are having trouble and think that the SID is not working. If you hold R2 or RT too hard, the white circle will expand wildly.

Instead, you use the SID to fix the node in Maintenance in Avatar Frontiers by gently pressing RT or R2 until the two circles match. If you’ve already squished the button as far as it will go, depress it slowly until the circles match. More importantly, what the game doesn’t tell you is that you can also use L2 or LT to shrink the circle. That’ll definitely be helpful. However, in both cases, you’ll have to be mindful of the pressure you’re putting on the buttons. Analog controls, baby. If you’re playing on mouse and keyboard, this puzzle is trivial – just use Q and E to match the circles. Learn this mechanic well, because you’ll be fixing stuff like this pretty often, plus it starts the hacking sequences.
