AC Origins Best Starting Abilities, Skills & Builds
Assassin’s Creed Origins gives you a lot of freedom when building your character. You can specialize in melee combat, stealth, bows, traps and explosives, or any combination of them. No matter how you choose to develop Bayek, there are some skills that are extremely useful, especially early on. Investing ability points into them at the start will make your life easier. We’re going to go through them in this AC Origins best starting abilities, skills and builds guide.
There are three branches to the skill tree in AC Origins: warrior, hunter and seer. Warrior skills are mostly about melee weapon proficiency, adrenaline management and overpower attacks. Hunter abilities regulate your bows and help you kill without being seen. The seer tree is filled with various tools, like bombs and darts, as well as skills that don’t fit in the other two.
Best warrior skills
Most of the warrior tree enhances your overpower attacks, which deal massive damage when you fill your adrenaline bar. If you’re into melee, you’re going to invest in those first, obviously. However, even ranged characters need to be capable with axes and swords, for situations when bows simply can’t do the trick. This is where the Adrenaline ability comes in. It will let you start fights with a your adrenaline bar already half full. This will let you kill one enemy instantly (or almost instantly) soon after you get into combat. You can even upgrade it to gain a full adrenaline bar at the start of every fight.
Best hunter abilities
The hunter skills are meant for people into sneaking and shooting. Even if you aren’t one of them, getting the Eagle Tagging skill will let you tag enemies and points of interest when scouting with Senu. Planning is half the battle, and this ability helps immensely. If you invest into Assassination XP, you’ll get more experience for stealth kills. You can start almost any fight by assassinating the first enemy, and this skill will reward you for it. It can be upgraded with Stealth Kill Streak, which gives even more XP for successive stealth kills.
Best seer skills
The seer tree is full of interesting toys, but chief among them are the Sleep Darts. When thrown, they will stun enemies and let you instantly kill them (if they’re at a lower level than you). This skill works great with the Stealth Kill Streak, as it allows you to stun several enemies, then assassinate them in succession. There’s also the Smoke Screen, which lets you throw a smoke bomb which stuns enemies in a radius and breaks line of sight. It’s great for dealing with groups, and getting out of tight spots.
When it comes to misc skills, we feel everyone should pick Salesman, which gives you 25% better prices when selling trinkets and animal parts. It’s a great way to earn more gold without actually doing more work. There’s also the Buy Materials ability, which is indispensable for every craftsman. It allows you to buy crafting materials from shops, instead of just getting them from dismantling unwanted gear.
