Aten Rising is one of the new quests in Assassin’s Creed Origins. It’s part of the main story of the Curse of the Pharaohs DLC. You’ll start it by talking to the high priestess in the Temple of Karnak in Thebes. Some of it is pretty straightforward, but there are tricky parts – like finding the heretic texts or the sanctuary of Akhenaten. AC Origins Aten Rising Quest – Heretic Texts & Sanctuary Location

Heretic texts location

Finding the heretic texts in the Theban Archive is the first hurdle. The game will tell you a Greek statue points to where the texts are hidden. Look around the archive – there are a bunch of marble statues, but only one is explicitly pointing. It is standing by itself, surrounded by decorative plants. If you look towards where the finger is pointing, you’ll see a shelf with scrolls. Climb it, and you’ll find the heretic texts in the top right corner.

Sanctuary of Akhenaten location

The next problematic step is the one which tasks you with finding the entrance to the sanctuary of Akhenaten. The objective text will only tell you that the entrance is illuminated by the sun in the mornings. Go to the docks west of the Temple of Karnak, then jump into the water. While everything is dark and murky, you should see a spot that’s brightly lit. Swim through the tiny opening there, and you’ll end up in the sanctuary.
