Torment of Hades is the next episode in this season of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey DLC. It’s going to be released later today, and it’s going to let us explore the ancient Greek underworld. It’s going to be a big change after the pastoral fields of Elysium, and the developers have released a trailer to show off some of the new features and locales. It should help ease you into the whole dark and grimy thing.

Apparently, it’s going to start off by you fighting Cerberos, no warning or anything. Obviously, it’s not going to be a particularly tough fight, since you literally have to complete it in order to start the DLC. It is going to be the linchpin for the events that follow. You’re going to owe Hades, and he’s going to ask you to catch a bunch of baddies that escaped from the pit of Tartaros when you killed his guard dog.

You’re gonna fight a bunch of criminal scum, the fancy Isu soldiers from the previous episode, as well as dead cultists and mercenaries. To top it off, you’ll have to fight the Greek heroes of legend – Perseus, Heracles, Agamemnon and Achilles – in order to convince them to act as guards to the underworld, instead of whatever it is they were doing all along. Seems like you can’t just go to the three-headed-puppy mill and get another hell-hound.

A bunch of stuff will be walled off until you get a specific set of armor. This suit allows the living to go where they aren’t actually supposed to go, and it’ll open up additional parts of the map for you. Thankfully, you’ll get fancy super-powered skills that should help with this, including temporary invincibility, a jump smash and the ability to place traps using arrows.
