Assassin’s Creed Odyssey tasks you with killing the legendary Kalydonian boar for Daughters of Artemis and it seems to be a problem for many. This is only the first step of a long quest chain, but before you can start hunting the other animals, you’ll have to prove your worth by defeating the legendary pig in Phokis. However, the pig is pretty relentless, and it summons help from time to time. How to defeat Kalydonian Legendary boar

There are several methods you can use, but one thing is the same in all of them – you’ll have to improve your dodge. There’s no way to win this fight if you can’t dodge the boar’s attacks consistently. Some recommend using a bow, others swear by the spear – it’s mostly down to personal preference. However, you should definitely use poison. Damage over time and the weakening effect are priceless.

You should also invest in the healing skill if you haven’t already. Once you’ve learned the boars patterns and damaged it enough, it’ll summon four smaller boars. They’re pretty dangerous, so you shouldn’t leave them running around. However, killing them will just push the boss to summon more. Instead, use paralysis arrows to keep them in check while you fight the big one.

But the most important tip we can give you is to bring a mercenary into the fight. Before you head over to the boar, commit some crimes so your wanted level rises. Roam the countryside until a mercenary appears, then kite him until you reach the Kalydonian boar. Make sure you don’t put too much distance between the two of you, or they might lose sight of you and return to patrolling.

Once you reach the boss, the pig and the mercenary will start fighting each other. You can help even the odds by killing the small boars when they appear. Eventually, one of them will drop dead. If it’s the boar, you can either fight the merc or run away. If it’s the merc, you’ll have a severely damaged boar to deal with using the advice we’ve given you.
