Nikolaos Wolf of Sparta – Kill or Spare – What to Choose?

When it comes to the choice of killing or sparing Nikolaos, Wolf of Sparta, know that it’s going to affect the game very seriously. It will lock away certain future choices for you, and even strongly affect the ending of the game. If you don’t want to keep reading to avoid spoilers, here’s the TL;DR: Spare Nikolaos. In my opinion, this is the best choice.

Now, killing Nikolaos might be very tempting, especially once you know who the Wolf of Sparta is. And, yes, getting revenge will probably make you feel like justice was done. However, try to find it in you to forgive him. After all, life with what he has done is punishment enough. Plus, the ripple effect it has on the rest of the game is significant. Which brings us to our next point…

Late Game & Ending Consequences of Nikolaos Wolf of Sparta Choice – What Happens?

Before we start discussing what happens in the late game and the ending depending on your choice with the Wolf of Sparta, one final warning. We’re about to get into extreme spoilers right now, so please; if you don’t want parts of the game’s ending ruined for you, click away now. Still here? Lovely. Let’s go.

First off, if you kill Nikolaos, you will lose a whole questline that prominently features the Wolf of Sparta later on in the game. Not only that, but if you kill him, you’ll later on have to battle Stentor, another powerful, high-ranking Spartan. Last, but most definitely not least, you won’t be able to get the “happiest” ending, which requires you to spare the lives of several key characters.

If, on the other hand, you do spare Nikolaos, you have a shot at the happiest ending. Also, you’ll be able to convince Nikolaos to intervene with Stentor, making it easier to spare Stentor; another requirement for the best ending. This is why I’d say the best choice is to spare Nikolaos. Ultimately, of course, the choice is yours. This is, as Ubisoft has mercilessly drilled into our skulls, your Odyssey.

Killing Stentor was way too easy. The Battle with him is on a hill. Push him to the edge and just throw him off the hill by using ‘Spartan Kick’ Ability.

I just reached ability level 26 but I forgot whether I killed the Wolf or not. Is there a way to find it out?

You failed to mention that you find stentor later in the game if you kill the wolf, which then if you spare his life. He becomes a part of the cult of Kosmos. LMAO

They had to do it that way so they don’t have to have too much extra dialogue for different options in the game. Just trust us 🙂

I thought he does it to protect him so Noone will hunt him.

Actually killing Nicklaus gave me a unique story ending, depending on how you proceed in the rest of the game. Personally I’m way happier with the ending I got, so make your own decision. The game was made that way, just like life don’t go searching what’s best because we don’t know what the best ending is, follow your gut and intuition.

In my opinion this is a really good answer play the way the game was meant to be played because as he said in real life we don’t know what would happen like we went know what happens until you complete the game.
