How to Get Legendary Lieutenants for Ship - AC Odyssey
Legendary lieutenants are special crew members in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. When assigned to the Adrestia, they’ll add certain perks to your ship. You can only have four of them active at any time, which makes getting the best lieutenants a must. They’re usually not easy to recruit, but there’s a way around the restriction. In this guide, we’re going to show you how to get legendary lieutenants in AC Odyssey.
How to get best lieutenants for Adrestia?
The way it’s intended to work is by recruiting NPCs you meet during the story and defeating mercenary bounty hunters. However, enemy camp leaders can sometimes spawn as legendary, and there’s a way to take advantage of that. Here’s how we did it:
First you need to find a camp you haven’t already cleared out. It might not work with some camps – the one we used was Amphikleia Military Camp. You’ll find it in Phokis, directly north from the Sanctuary of Delphi. The method works best with military camps and region forts – avoid hunter camps, as they have ranged units.
Once you’re there, use Ikaros to scout the area and mark the captain. Stand at the gate and shoot him with an arrow, then start running away. Once you’re out of the camp, the indicator at the top of the screen will turn yellow. The captain’ll follow you, but he won’t raise an alaram. Defeat him outside the camp, then recruit him. Do not complete the location – this means no taking loot, or fighting other enemies.
After a few seconds, another captain will spawn. Use Ikaros to find him and repeat the process. Not every captain that spawns will be legendary – we got a bunch of blue ones, but we also got our fair share of golden lieutenants from this raid.
If you don’t want to use this method, which might get patched at some point, there’s also a way to ensure you get a legendary lieutenant from each camp you conquer. Save the game before you engage, the use Ikaros to check out the captain. If he’s anything but golden, reload the save and the game will change the captain. This way you can make sure each enemy encampment you clear out results in a legendary lieutenant, without cheesing the game.
