Possibly the earliest piece of legendary armor you can get is the Pilgrim’s Belt. You can find it in a legendary chest in Malis, northeast of the starting island. It’ll give you +15% assassin damage and +25% adrenalin on assassination kill. Even if you’re not into sneaking, this gives you a great opener – sneak up to the first enemy, kill them unseen and start the fight with a healthy adrenaline bonus.

By the time you get there, you’ll have already met some of the mercenary bounty hunters. If you go to the mercenary screen and inspect them, you’ll notice some of them drop legendary gear. Even lower tier ones can drop amazing stuff, like parts of the Greek Heroes set. You won’t be able to collect the whole thing until later on in the game, but getting even a single piece of this legendary armor early on can be a great boost.

Finally, there’s the Snake set. The entire thing is pretty easy to obtain, and it’s the first complete set you’ll be able to get. You can get it by defeating cultists from the Eye of Kosmos branch, which is the first subsection of the Cult of Kosmos you’ll get to meet. The set increases assassin damage and greatly improves your poison attacks, which weaken enemies while also doing damage over time.
