Assassin's Creed Odyssey Armor, Hoods, Blacksmiths Explained
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is going to be tweaking the inventory system, armor, and the blacksmiths a little bit. For example, blacksmiths will sell a bunch of different gear, and their inventories will be randomized, so visiting them is going to be well worth your while. There will be a ton of different armor pieces, hoods, and other gear to equip.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey seems like it will be way more generous gear-wise than its predecessor, AC Origins. It would seem that you’ll be able to get fairly high-level gear, comparatively speaking, fairly early in the game. Perhaps more importantly, though, there is very little difference looks-wise between, say, a Rare and a Legendary version of the same piece of gear. True, the difference in stats are night and day, and there’s no set bonus, but at least you can look pretty dope almost from the get-go. As the video below demonstrates, the cosmetic difference between a piece of Rare and a Legendary headgear is just the overall shininess.
Another important change with AC Odyssey is the blacksmith. Visiting blacksmiths in the towns and villages is going to be way more rewarding in the new game. Their inventories will be randomized, and they will change around every now and then. And, on top of that, every vendor is going to stock different items; so, basically, every blacksmith you visit is going to have a very unique inventory, theoretically speaking. And all of them will sell gear that is at least cool-looking, even though the numbers might not be much. Same goes for all the chests that you’ll find in the overworld, so make sure to explore to the best of your abilities. And, of course, there’ll always be the Oikos of the Olympians.
Of course, for those of you that want to be stealthy, there’s always the different mercenary hoods. And, interestingly enough, they change color with the chest armor you’re wearing. So, rest assured, you’ll always look cool in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, no matter how hard you may try to look dumb. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is coming out on October 5th, and we’ll be sure to have more info on armor and other gear when it does.
