They’re also extremely rare, and you’ll probably require much more than you have access to at first. Thankfully, there is a reliable way to get them, although it’s a slow trickle. How to get rusted parts?

We only know of one way to get rusted parts at this point. After you’ve encountered Gulliver, you’ll need to wake him from his slumber, then accept his plea for help. Find the five communicator parts he needs and he’ll be off your island shortly.

After a while, you’ll receive a letter from him in the mail, along with a reward. Once you’ve got it, head to Resident Services and check out the recyciling box. You’ll find a rusted part inside. Thanks to the powers of time travel, we know Gulliver will return to your island about once a week, and you’ll get a new rusted part each time he does. So make sure to seek him out every week, or you’ll miss out on one of the game’s most rare resources.

While you’re waiting for him to appear, you can engage in Stalk Market trading by buying and selling turnips, look around the island for star fragments, get some new fruit species growing on your land via Dodo code trading, or even plot to evict that one villager you bear a grudge against.
