How to Recruit Nook Miles Ticket Islands Villagers in Animal Crossing New Horizons?

To recruit new villagers from Nook Miles Ticket islands in Animal Crossing New Horizons, you first have to purchase a Nook Miles Ticket from Nook Stop Terminal in Resident Services. It’ll cost you 2,000 Nook Miles for one of these. With that ticket, go to the airport and fly to one of these islands. They are usually deserted, relatively small, and seem to generate randomly. You can gather resources here. Among other stuff, there’s Foreign Fruit, which you can sell at home for a whole lot of Bells. You can also dig up a whole Foreign Tree and plant it on your island.

More importantly, you can meet random people here that you can talk to and recruit them to move to your village. You can do this after you unlock the option to place plots for new villagers, around Day 4. If they agree to come, you have to go back home, build a bridge and start preparing a home for them. This whole process eventually leads you to finally unlock the Ladder in Animal Crossing New Horizons.

It will take about a day for the home to be complete. Then, you’ll have to wait another day for the new villager to arrive. Of course, you can always use time travel to advance the game, if you don’t want to wait. We explain how to do this in our How to Time Travel in Animal Crossing New Horizons guide.

Is there supposed to be a villager on every island that you go to?

Same problem as other commenters. I only have 5 people on my island, and I have a campsite. Tom Nook wants me to invite more people, so I decided to go to an island using nook miles. Every island always looks the same. Same fruit and flowers. Never anything different. No villagers either 🙁

I keep getting the same problem, I got excited and invited the first three villagers I ran into on other islands but now I keep getting the same islands and no foreign fruit…. I’ve already moved one new villager in so I thought I’d at least get some new villagers showing up on the random islands but still no luck… I just rolled the same islands twice in a row cause I thought exiting from the game and re-entering would help…

I have the same issue where I tried recruiting more islanders in the same night that I already recruited one (via Nook Miles islands). I think you can only recruit one islander per day? It sounds stupid though. Could be a glitch, or maybe we all got incredibly unlucky. I’ve spent around 6 tickets since I recruited Roscoe so I’d say it’s more likely either a glitch or an intentional feature.

Yeah it’s the same for me, I’ve got a few villagers on my island but that’s about it and I keep using nook miles tickets but there’s never another villager on the deserted islands?? And the islands that generate literally all look the same with the same fruit trees?! I’ve literally wasted so many nook miles…

Question. Did you time travel by chance? I’m thinking this could be Nintendo’s form of punishment

I’ve finished the task for the first 3 animals, but how soon can you invite others to come because I’ve bought a few more tickets and haven’t found any more on the islands.

After my third visit to an island I stopped seeing villagers and I haven’t gotten any foreign fruit other than coconuts. Every single island always has cherries and coconuts. I managed to get an island full of pear trees once but that’s about it. Is this just my luck or am I missing something?

On day 2, i went to the island 3x as well. 3rd time, no villager. Twice i got the same maps with cherries, coconuts, and wildflower. Once i got an island with bamboo trees, coconuts, and roses.

I didn’t get to the whole recruiting quest part with Tom Nook yet, but I used my travel ticket and I got an animal I really like, Beau. He said he would come and join my island but as it says I don’t have the recruiting mission yet. Please tell me he will come later when I do get the mission??

Hey, don’t worry! It takes a day or two for them to get in touch with Tom nook. He will let you know when he’s ready to get you going placing those houses down for the new villagers

This happened to me! I was relieved to find out that after the mission, the animal I requested to come to my island reserved a spot. So I’m sure you’re villager will be there once you get the mission
