How to Catch a Scorpion ACNH
Scorpions are one of the types of bug you can catch in Animal Crossing New Horizons. They appear only during certain times of year and day, and they’re pretty rare. Aside for needing them for the museum, you can also sell them for 8000 bells apiece. They’re a great source of money, like spiders and other rare beasties, so you’ll want to catch them whenever you run into one. As you may have guessed, it’s not that easy, what with that nasty stinger and all. This guide will show you how to catch a scorpion in ACNH.
How to capture scorpions
Scorpions only appear between May and October, and they’ll only spawn between 7 PM and 4 AM. Once you’ve spotted one, be careful. Don’t rush it from the front – you’ll just end up getting stung, and you’ll end up unconscious. What you want to do is sneak up to it. Equip your net and raise it by pressing and holding A. Move towards it, but stop as soon as it raises its pincers. Wait until it calms down, then take a few more steps. Again, when the pincers go into threat mode, stop. Keep doing this until you’re directly next to it, then release A to swipe the net and catch it.
How to farm scorpions
If getting the odd 8000 bells each time you run into a scorpion is just not good enough for you, you might want to try farming them. The best way to do this is to take Mystery Island tours during the night, hoping you’ll get sent to scorpion island. Leave everything but the essentials at home, so you have as much space as possible for loot. If you manage to get to scorpion island, don’t leave until your pockets are full of scorpions. And remember to stay calm and move slowly.
