One of these is that now you will be able to change the exterior of the Villager’s houses on your island. I’m sure that we don’t have to point out how many new esthetic options you can make, and really customize the house of each villager to your liking. However, before you will be able to do this, you will need to complete a couple of things first. How to Change the Exterior of the Villager’s Houses in Animal Crossing New Horizons
To begin with, you will need to have updated your game to the latest version 2.0, and to have bought and installed the Happy Home Paradise DLC. Besides these prerequisites, another thing that you will need to do before you can get access to this feature is that you will need to have decorated or renovated 30 homes for the villagers on your island. When you have done this, travel back home and speak with Tom Nook there. You will get the option to pay 9,000 Bells to decorate the exterior and interior of the home of one of your neighbors.
Note that you will need to wait for 24h until these changes take effect, and that you also cannot change the dimensions of the rooms in the home, nor add additional rooms there. All the items, furniture, and other options from the Happy Home Paradise DLC will also be available on your own island. Once you decorate a home like this, Tom will email you to thank you for decorating the home and to award you 1000 Nook Miles.
