Scorn is back on Kickstarter with a new gameplay trailer

It has been a few months since we talked about Scorn, an atmospheric FPS horror that looks genuinely otherworldly. The developer, Ebb Software, promised a second trailer at the time which would contain gameplay, and they have delivered. The trailer is also here to announce their second go at Kickstarter.

The team has managed to secure other means of financing after the first failed Kickstarter. They were noticed by Humble Bundle and entered into partnership. This helped the team grow to a substantial 20 people, which also meant that expenses, as well as ambition, grew.

Developers are now close to finishing Part 1 and they are looking for some additional financing in order to polish some of the aspects of the game. Kickstarter just launched and it has already gathered €37,000 out of the €150,000 goal, with 34 days to go. Ebb Software have also promised a playable demo for all backers before the Kickstarter is through.

Scorn is an atmospheric first-person horror adventure game set in a nightmarish universe of odd forms and somber tapestry.It is designed around the idea of “being thrown into the world”. Isolated and lost inside this dreamlike world, you will explore different interconnected regions in a nonlinear fashion. The unsettling environment is a character itself.

Devs are promising a world which reacts to us, inhabited by creatures which are not necessarily hostile or friendly. Different gameplay styles will be needed to survive, with limited inventory and ammo management for heightened sense of awareness.

Scorn will be out on Steam, but it will be available as a DRM free download as well. Expect the first part, dubbed Dasein, some time in 2018.
