Destiny 2 Auras Will Let You Customize Your Character Even More

Destiny 2 PC beta is under way, and while it’s mostly the same thing console players got to taste a few weeks back, there are some subtle differences. Nothing vital, just small hints about what’s to come in the full game. One such hint is the aura slot in the inventory.

The in-game description calls auras “visual effects awarded on completion of challenging activities”. Their slot is where the shader slot used to be in the previous game, between the emote and the emblem. Sadly, there aren’t any in the beta, so we don’t know what they’re going to look like. Given how rich and impressive the visual effects on super abilities are, players will probably go crazy about them. One such effect is the Scout Commander Aura.

Since the description says they’re available as rewards for challenging activities, we presume they’ll drop after beating Nightfall Strikes, raids and similarly complex and difficult challenges. Don’t expect them to be as easy to get as the emblems are.

In other Destiny 2 news, the PC beta is being praised for its great performance, even on older and less impressive PCs. On the other hand, it still has its fair share of issues – Destiny 2 PC errors are stopping a considerable number of players from accessing it, and those are only people who’ve preordered. Once the floodgates open, it’s probably going to be even worse. Those who managed to get in found a Leviathan easter egg in the Nessus skybox, which has sparked a debate among members of the community. Some think it is the Leviathan from the raid mentioned in the leaked Destiny 2 achievements.

Destiny 2 PC open beta is going to start later today, if you’re interested in seeing all of this for yourself. It’s going to be available for two days, until August 31st.
