Injustice 2 Black Manta Gameplay Trailer Revealed

As fans of Injustice 2 probably already know, NetherRealm has prepared the Fighter Pack 2 DLC. The DLC will contain three characters, like the previous one. This time, the list includes Raiden from Mortal Kombat, the one and only Hellboy, and our today’s subject, Black Manta. Aquaman’s main enemy will be the first of the bunch to make an appearance in Injustice 2, but there’s no set launch day yet. The gameplay trailer only reveals that you’ll be able to play as Black Manta some time in September.

If you’re not well-versed in DC lore, you probably don’t know much about Black Manta, other than maybe the fact that he’s the spearhead of Aquaman’s rogue gallery. The gameplay video doesn’t reveal much more than hints. The opening intro dialogue between Aquaman and Manta reveals that the villain seems to hold Aquaman accountable for the death of his father, and is out for revenge. What more do you need?

When it comes to Black Manta’s fighting style, it looks vicious and precise. His main weapon of choice are his dual knives. However, he also makes ample use of the many gadgets hidden in his suit – laser eyes, a grappling hook, rocket launchers, bombs, and a trident of his own. His most powerful attack sees him using all of his tech in the most brutal ways possible. If this were Mortal Kombat, guts and bones would be flying everywhere.
