NBA 2K18 Prelude Demo Coming to Consoles on September 8th
NBA 2K18 will have a Prelude demo, as is tradition. It will be released on September 8th, and will be free for all Playstation 4 and Xbox One users. PC players are getting the short end of the stick, which is in line with said tradition. They’ll have Switch, PS3 and Xbox 360 owners to keep them company, though.
The demo will allow you to test 2K18 before its out and, in case you decide to purchase, transfer the career you’ve started over into the full game. There’s no info on the contents of the demo, but it’ll probably be similar to what we had in previous years – several games with some training in between, some light customization (using what’s available at the start), the chance to fiddle with the constantly broken face scanning app, and whatever passes for a story in these games.
If you’re a PC player you might want to hold off on preordering (you might want to hold off regardless of your platform, but that’s another topic). The NBA games have a long history of inadequate PC ports, and not releasing the demo on PC only encourages speculation that this year will be no different. There’s also still no mention of the system requirements.

You can get it four days early if you preorder, along with some in-game items like a certain amount of VC, MyTeam packs and Kyrie Irving MyPlayer apparel. If you’re looking to spend some more money, you can get the Legend edition, which comes with a bunch of VC, even more MyTeam weekly packs, a championship ring some Shaq outfits and shoes. There’s also the ridiculously expensive Legend Gold edition, which includes even more stuff on top of this. You know how it works.
