Pokemon GO Bug Preventing Raid Boss Capture Will Get Fixed

A new Pokemon GO bug prevents capturing of a Raid Boss with the final Premier Ball. Fortunately, Niantic has recognized the problem, and they are currently working on fixing it. For the time being, though, trainers will have to contend with getting one extra Premier Ball when attempting to catch a Boss Pokemon. Hopefully, the devs will remedy this issue in the next patch.

As a significant number of trainers on The Silph Road subreddit have noted, there’s a pretty significant bug in Pokemon GO right now. The problem is excruciatingly annoying; it automatically blocks your final Premier Ball from capturing a Raid Boss during the bonus challenge. Fortunately, according to the Known Issues section of the Pokemon GO help page, Niantic has heard our pleas and cries of rage:

We are actively working to resolve an issue where the Raid Boss always breaks free from the last Premier Ball available. To counteract the effects of this issue, Pokemon GO will temporarily grant an extra Premier Ball in the Bonus Challenge.

So, there you have it, fellow trainers. It’s not much of a recompense, yes, but it’s better than nothing, I suppose. Considering how difficult some of these Raid Bosses can be to capture, it won’t do much to bring back all of those opportunities that you’ve squandered believing that you have that one last shot. Still, this way we’ll technically get the proper allotted amount of Premier Balls for each encounter, at least.

And if I sound grumpier than usual, it’s because this bug has been driving me mad. Several Raid Bosses have escaped me on the last Premier Ball, and, like many of you, I’m plenty sick and tired of it. At least these bald patches that I know sport from ripping my hair out in frustration do a good job of keeping me cool in these hot summer days.
