Pokemon GO Safari Zone August Events Delayed, New Update Live
Niantic has announced that some of the August Pokemon GO Safari Zone events will have to be delayed. The reason behind the date change is that Niantic wants to “guarantee the best possible gameplay experience.” In other words, they want to avoid another Chicago Fest. This delay will hit the August 5th event in Copenhagen and Prague, as well as the August 12th one in Stockholm and Amsterdam. Pokemon GO also got a new update, which fixes several freeze bugs and returns Spark for Team Instinct.
After the Pokemon GO Fest disaster and the possible subsequent lawsuit, it’s understandable that Niantic would want to avoid another PR nightmare. Therefore, they’ve decided to delay two of the Pokemon GO Safari Zone events, that were supposed to take place in August.
According to a post on the official website, the Safari Zone in Prague and Copenhagen, as well as the one in Amsterdam and Stockholm, will be taking place some time in the Fall. The September 16th event, taking place in France, Spain, and Germany, is still on schedule. Same goes for the Pikachu event in Yokohama, taking place on August 14th. To make up for the delay, Niantic has hinted that certain Pokemon, which are rare in Europe, will start popping up in select cities. That’s all the info we have for now, but we’ll keep you posted.
