Destiny 2 Riskrunner Exotic Submachine Gun Location

Riskrunner is an exotic submachine gun in Destiny 2. It’s a weapon that rewards fast and loose shooting, and does arc damage. We first got to try it out during the open beta, and it was a treat – especially in the Inverted Spire strike. In this guide, we’re going to show you Destiny 2 Riskrunner exotic submachine gun location, its perks and what it looks like (spoiler: it looks amazing).

How to get Riskrunner in Destiny 2

During the Destiny 2 open beta, you could obtain the Riskrunner simply by creating a Warlock character. Your guardian would pick the gun up during the first few minutes of the story mission. You’ll probably have to work a lot harder to get it in the full game, but more on that when it’s released.

Riskrunner weapon perks

The pre-made Riskrunner we got to use during the beta had five perks, and we weren’t allowed to choose which perks to use. Instead, we got saddled with the following:

  • Arc Conductor (intrinsic) – When taking arc damage, this weapon becomes more powerful and resists incoming arc damage. Kills extend the time in this overcharged state.
  • Arrowhead Brake (barrel) – Lightly vented barrel, which decreases recoil and increases handling.
  • Extended Mag (magazine) – Increases magazine size, decreases reload speed.
  • Superconductor (trait) – When Arc Conductor is active, shots fired have the chance to become chain lightning and return ammo.
  • Short-action Stock (stock) – Greatly increases handling.

All that aside, this gun just looks amazing. It’s too cool. It’s also great if you can’t be bothered to aim. Some players have discovered it’s a good fit for the boss fight at the Inverted Spire strike, where you have opportunites self-inflict arc damage, which then boosts your gun and speeds up the fight considerably.

Obviously, Bungie is going to tweak it before the game launches, on September 6th. We’ll update the guide to reflect the changes once Destiny 2 is live.
