Final Fantasy XII PS4 Remaster Debuts in First Place on UK Sales Chart
The PlayStation 4 remaster of Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age has debuted in the top spot of UK sales charts for last week. It managed to grab first place from the previous number one, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, which is now in third place. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is in second place. Other games in the top ten include Overwatch, GTA V, Injustice 2, etc.
Final Fantasy XII originally launched for the PlayStation 2 way back in 2006. It released to overwhelmingly positive reviews, and the audiences loved it, too. It appears that love is still present. The PlayStation 4 remaster of the game, Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, launched recently, and it immediately climbed to the top spot of the UK sales chart. That’s a pretty impressive feat. The last Square Enix game to achieve this success was Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, according to GameSpot.
Interestingly, this is the second PS4 remaster that got to Number One in UK sales. Previously, it was Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, which held on to the top spot for two consecutive weeks, and is now in third place. Even though this chart only tracks physical copies sold and disregard digital sales, this is still a noteworthy development. It might just mean that the feelings of nostalgia are pretty strong, but it could mean something more.
As for the other entries in the list, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is now in second place. This is probably, at least in part, due to the launch of the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Zombies DLC 3 Absolution Pack. The other games on the list are the usual suspects: GTA V, Overwatch, Horizon Zero Dawn, Injustice 2, and so on.
