Shadow of Mordor Free on Steam and Xbox One for a Limited Time
Middle Earth: Shadow of War is now free for a limited time on Xbox One (Gold required) and Steam. This offer lasts from July 6th to 9th. If you like it, and choose to show support by buying the product, you can also save money, as it is on an 80% discount, again for a limited time, and on PlayStation as well.
There is one more reason to play the game, even if you’ve played it before. Playing this title will allow you to have your top Nemesis and Follower join you in Middle-earth: Shadow of War. This sequel is planned for October 10th, 2017. It is nice to see that the developers are finding additional ways to connect these two.
The current full price for Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor Game of the Year Edition is $20 without a discount. The free weekend is absolutely a good chance to test it out and see if this is a game for you. But be quick, since the 80% discount won’t last for long.
Platform | Deal | Time |
---|---|---|
Steam | Free 80% Discount = $4 | Ends July 10 Ends July 10 |
PlayStation | 70% Discount (PS Plus extra 10%) = $6 ($4) | Ends July 11 |
Xbox One | Free 80% Discount = $4 | Ends July 10 Ends July 11* |
*Note: For some reason, the store has July 11th as the end date, but the trailer and the info underneath it say July 17th.
One thing you’ll need to worry about is how much memory you have on your hard drive. The game takes up about 42 GB, but it needs a bit more to install the files. It might take up even double the amount of the starting size. If you have a slow internet download speed, be sure to start with the download as soon as possible, so you can play for a few hours, at least.
If you do decide to spend some money and get this game, you’ll be pleased to know that the Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor Game of the Year Edition has all the DLCs. It includes the story packs (The Lord of The Hunt and The Bright Lord), skins, runes, missions, challenge modes and additional features (Photo Mode, etc).
