The list of free games PS Plus subscribers will get in July 2017 has been revealed. As usual, there’s six games total on offer across the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and Vita, with one game being a cross-buy between the Vita and PS 4. The list of free PS Plus game in July includes Until Dawn, Telltale’s Game of Thrones, Tokyo Jungle, and more.
Sony has revealed the list of PS Plus free games for July 2017. The grabs this month seem pretty good. PlayStation 4 owners will get two games just for them – Until Dawn and Game of Thrones, which was adapted by Telltale Games. Good timing there, considering that the new season of the series will premiere this month. The game itself is a graphic adventure told in six episodes. The story follows members House Forrester trying to survive the War of Five Kings. In other words, it’s kind of a side story, but still worth exploring.
Until Dawn will probably be the main draw this month, considering that it’s such a beloved horror game. Also, it stars Rami Malek, who found fame in the meantime with Mr. Robot. The game is heavily narrative-driven, with all of the action happening through quicktime events. You follow the misadventures of eight stereotypical horror-movie teenagers and try to keep them alive. The game manages to squeeze in every single horror trope in existence. While it can get pretty clunky story-wise in my opinion, it’s still fun to view it as a satire of horror movies. Now, if they would just stop being so smug and shut up about the butterfly effect, Until Dawn would be a much better experience.
