Assassin's Creed Origins E3 2017 Mysteries of Egypt Trailer Released
Even though there was quite a bit of info on Assassin’s Creed Origins at the Microsoft E3 presentation, Ubisoft decided to release some more. At their own press event, they’ve shown another trailer for the game, called Mysteries of Egypt. It’s a collage of scenes from the game – environments, fights, wildlife acting wildlifey, etc.
The trailer opens with the words “actual in game footage captured in 4k”, but in reality that’s a bit dishonest. It doesn’t show even a single frame from the player’s perspective, instead opting for in-engine cutscenes, combat and vistas filmed with a free camera that almost certainly won’t be available to players, and such. It’s all very pretty, and we’re sure it’s representative, but it’s not what you’d normally call “actual gameplay footage”.
If you’ve missed the original announcement (or the numerous info leaks that preceded it), here’s the short version: Assassin’s Creed Origins will take place in Ancient Egypt, letting you live out the early days of the Brotherhood. You’ll get to play as Bayek, one of the first assassins, and a man with a bone to pick with Egyptian clergy.
It will be an open world action game, set across a large part of Egypt. Expect standard fare, like climbing, skulking in the shadows, quietly murdering foot soldiers, upgrading your abilities and riding a camel. Well, that last one might not be as standard.
Assassin’s Creed Origins is going to be released on October 27th, on PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One. Preorders are up as we speak, and as is customary for the series, there are twenty thousand editions to choose from. Their prices range from the usual sixty dollars to a whooping seven hundred. No matter which one you pick, you’ll get the Secrets of The First Pyramids bonus missions.
