Rocket League Second Anniversary Update Goes Live in July
The second birthday of Rocket League is on the horizon, and Psynoix is preparing a large update to celebrate. The Second Anniversary update will launch in early July, and will bring new, free arena, new battle cars, Overdrive Crates, and a lot more. It’s awesome to see how dedicated Psyonix are to keeping the game fresh and exciting.
Rocket League first launched on July 5th, and since it roared into life, it hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down. With the game’s biennial coming up, developers Psyonix are working hard on the Second Anniversary update to celebrate the occasion. The update will launch on July 5th, appropriately, and it will bring on a bunch of new and exciting stuff.
First off, the free Champions Field arena, which will be available “in all Competitive and Online Playlists.” It will feature a huge statue of the game’s shield logo, a lot of lighting and triple-decker seating. Next up, the new Overdrive Crates. They will drop randomly after online matches, and they’ll contain a bunch of cool new items. These include new decals, wheels and Black Market items. On top of that, they’ll contain two brand new battle cars: Centio V17 and Animus GP.
Finally, the Second Anniversary update will mark the end of Competitive Season 4 and the start of Season 5. More information about the rewards will be released as the update approaches, but we do know that every rank will get their own reward, with the Grand Champion reward including an in-game title. One of the rewards will include new Season Reward Trails.
