Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 First Trailer Released

Warner Bros have released the first trailer for Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2, the latest sequel in TT Games’ popular Lego series. It sheds some light on the plot, but it’s mostly a character showcase, showing off a bunch of characters. It’s what many fans want, to be fair – cool new mini figures and that recognizable brand of humor.

The trailer opens with the scene from the announcement teaser, where baby Groot is running away from danger, only to be saved by Rocket. The racoon starts complaining about being in Chronopolis, while medieval castles and pyramids appear in the sky. After a brief exchange between the two, the video cuts to three Spider-men swinging between buildings and complimenting each other on their costumes.

Baby Groot almost gets crushed by a giant stomping around, but is saved by Starlord in the nick of time. He throws the little critter into a strange machine which makes him all grown up again. Back to his old self, Groot starts smashing mummies.

Another cut brings us to a group fight scene – Avengers fighting alongside the Guardians of the Galaxy – which is interrupted by Thor smashing the ground with his hammer. It seems Kang will be the main villain in the new game. The trailer ends with a group shot – the same one we used in this article. Truth be told, it’s not much of a reveal – all the characters they’ve shown have been expected, but I guess they have to save something for the other trailers as well.

Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 will be released on November 14th, on PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One. The Nintendo Switch version will arrive afterwards, although we don’t have an exact date yet. Previous generation consoles are definitely dropped, so don’t hold your breath for Playstation 3, Xbox 360 or WiiU versions of the game.
