Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 Announced, Coming in November

Warner Bros have announced Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2, the next Lego title from TT Games. It’s coming to all major platforms in November this year, and it’s going to introduce a lot of previously unused Marvel characters, along with the usual fan favorites. They’ve also released a super short teaser trailer, promising a proper one for next week.

The story will pit players agains Kang the Conqueror, a villain they’ll have to chase across the open world hub of Chronopolis, and a bunch of areas from different times and places. The press release mentions ancient Egypt, the old west, Sakaar and New York city in the year 2099 as examples.

Characters we’ll be able to unlock include Cowboy Captain America, Spiderman 2099, Gladiator Hulk, Thor, the Guardians of the Galaxy crew, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, Green Goblin and many more. The teaser they released shows baby Groot running away from trouble – hopefully we’ll get the grown-up version as well. We think it’s safe to assume Stan Lee will be making an appearance as well. The full trailer is supposed to be released on May 23rd, so we’ll hopefully know more at that point.

Apart from that, we don’t know much. The characters will have the “ability to manipulate time”, but we don’t know how this will fit into the game, apart from letting them visit areas that aren’t in the same timeline. There’s going to be multiplayer for up to four players, both coop and competitive. The latter is called Super Hero Battling Mode.

Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 is going to be released on November 14th, on PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One. The Nintendo Switch version will be a little late, and it’s expected to launch during the holiday season. Last generation consoles haven’t been mentioned – they’re probably going to be left out.
