Dead By Daylight Arriving on Xbox One & PS4 This Summer
Great news for all horror-loving console owners! Dead by Daylight, an asymmetrical multiplayer survival horror game, is finally coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this June. In the game, you play either as a slasher villain, or one of four victims trying to escape.
Dead By Daylight first came out for the PC on June 14th, 2016. The game is all about the asymmetrical multiplayer, and it revolves around a pretty familiar slasher movie scenario. Four players are survivors, and their task is to start up generators, open the gate and escape the arena. Meanwhile, one player is the lovingly stereotypical killer, and his job is to incapacitate the survivors and impale them on spikes. Each killer (Trapper, Wraith, Hillbilly, Nurse, Hag and Shape aka Michael Myers) has a unique special ability they can use to hunt down the survivors.
The game has a pretty solid following on Steam still, even though it does have its problems. It’s doing well enough that now Dead by Daylight is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. In North America, you’ll be able to grab it starting June 20th. Players in Europe will have to wait until June 23rd. Of course, you’ll be able to purchase it in both digitally and physically.
The retail price for the console version will be $29.99. On top of the base game, you’ll also get some of the DLCs that came out, as well as future DLCs. The ones that are already out are mostly cosmetic stuff, including new costumes for both survivors and killers. The “Of Flesh and Mud” DLC also includes a new killer called The Hag. Here’s a list of what you’ll get.
- The “80’s Suitcase” add-on
- The “Bloodstained Sack” add-on
- The “Of Flesh and Mud” chapter add-on
- The Original Soundtrack
- Future DLC that’ll be announced further down the road
