Get your gear, Guardians: Iron Banner returning to Destiny
Destiny 2 may be well on its way and all the rage in the news and what not, but the original Destiny, with the Age of Triumph update still has a lot to offer to its dedicated bunch of players. After spending over two billion hours playing the game, who could blame them for wanting another go. And this is where the Iron Banner comes in.
For those who are not in the know, Iron Banner is a time-limited even for Destiny Crucible, which is to say for the PvP gaming. In normal Crucible matches you do not enjoy the full advantage of your gear in 6 on 6 matches. However, when the Iron Banner is in town, the gloves come off. Players can earn class-specific armor during the tournament, as well as shotguns and auto-rifles and collect bounties. It seems that Bungie has quite a lot going on for the players in these last few months of Destiny.
The Age of Triumph update has done its best to revive some of the old raids as well as introduce a bunch of new loot to the game. The raids have been brought to new Light levels, particulary Vault of Glass, Crota’s End, King’s Fall and Wrath of the Machine, which gave players old and new the opportunity to extend their enjoyment of Destiny until some time in the future.
Speaking of the future, Destiny 2 is scheduled for September 9, 2017, mimicking the original Destiny’s date of release. The beta is expected to launch some time during the summer, and it will be available to all those who pre-order the game. So far, there have been two expansions hinted at, one probably dealing with Osiris, known for the Trials of Osiris in Destiny. The other one seems to bear the symbol of Rasputin, everyone’s favorite Warmind.
The Iron Banner returns to Destiny on April 18th.
