Star Trek Bridge Crew is a VR game developed by Red Storm Entertainment for Ubisoft. Yes, you read that right. It’s a Ubisoft game that isn’t Assassin’s Creed or Tom Clancy. It might not even feature a single vantage point, tower or what have you. Probably.

In Bridge Crew, you’ll be in charge of the Starfleet ship USS Aegis. The game is connected directly to the new Star Trek cinematic universe. Your task will be to explore an unknown part of space, called The Trench, in order to find a new home planet for the Vulcans. The Trench has both hidden wonders and dangers, and it’s up to you to discover them. However, the Klingon empire is already there…

While the game takes place in the new, alternate timeline that the J.J. Abrams movies established, they still have aces up their sleeve for the old-school fans. In Star Trek: Bridge Crew, you’ll be able to take the helm of the USS Enterprise. Here’s some screenshots.

Admittedly, it looks a little wonky, graphics-wise. Presumably, that’s the compromise that you have to make for VR. Besides, if it makes you feel like you’re there, who cares. And don’t even try to deny that you secretly really want to pilot the Enterprise. This game will be an absolute must-experience for all Star Trek fans.
