Deus Ex Mankind Divided A Criminal Past DLC Available Now

Square Enix and Eidos Montreal have released new DLC for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. It’s called A Criminal Past, and it recounts some details from Adam Jensen’s past. Specifically, his first mission as a TF29 agent.

Fans of Mankind Divided have a lot to be happy about. The new DLC, A Criminal Past, is out now. It covers events before the game itself, delving into the past of Adam Jensen as a TF29 agent. On his first mission, he must infiltrate a high-security prison for augmented criminals, called The Penthouse. You can check out the release trailer below.

Jensen’s mission is to contact another agent that has gone dark and retrieve information from him. However, he quickly learns that life inside The Penthouse can break anybody. They upload viruses to disable augmentations, and torture prisoners with electric shocks. Not only does Jensen have to find the other agent, but he must also find a way to survive in the prison.

Clearly, Jensen has regrets over how he handled the mission. The trailer doesn’t say why, so we’ll have to see how it unfolds. However, one of the shots clearly indicates that some extreme violence went down. The success of his mission might strike a blow to world-wide terrorism, but there has to be much more to it. Jensen will have to recount the story and face his dark past.

Perhaps this will show us a prelude that will eventually lead to his fallout with TF29. Seeing the way the prison guards treat the augmented inmates might sow a small seed of doubt in him. One of the characters clearly says that guards kill inmates.
