Nioh Speedrun Record - 1 hour and 36 Minutes
Nioh speedruners have achieved a new record, finishing the game in just 1 hour and 36 minutes. It is just amazing, since the game itself is huge, providing us with a ton of content that normally takes days to complete. There was about 6 deaths in total.
Maybe we can expect this record to be broken in the future, but this is definitely a great achievement, completing all of the main mission in such a short period of time. As you can see, even from the beginning of the game we can tell that he knows the location of all the key items, shortcuts and paths.
He also equips weapons while opening doors to reduce play time even more. The first section and the first boss were finished in just 2 minutes. As he proceeds, he chooses the Kusarigama as his primary weapon, dual swords as secondary and Kato as his guardian spirit. He uses the dodging mechanic to move even faster through the environment.
At his first rest, he upgrades his Magic stat by 2 points, and invests in Omnyo magic skills, increasing the capacity and combat capabilities. In his quickslot we can see the elixir, shurikens, water and weakness talismans as his choice. In 5 minutes, he has already beaten the second boss on the ship, called Onryoki, which fell within seconds. You can check out the full video below.
Really magnificent skill and performance, completing the game in such a short time with ease. The video itself has almost 100 000 views, and it’s not a surprise. Distortion2 is known for his speedruns, beating games such as Resident Evil 7 and Dark Souls 3 in a very short amount of time. He is confident that next time he will have an even better score, with 1 hour and 30 minutes as a target time. We will keep you updated if he breaks the record again.
