For Honor Map variations trailer
New map variations trailer was released by Ubisoft for For Honor, the upcoming online action hack and slash video game. The beautiful trailer explains how the map variations will work in the game. You can check the trailer below:
All the maps available will feature multiple variations in terms of weather, vegetation, time of day and vistas. The purpose of this is to create a different atmosphere on each map, therefore making each battle feel different than before. This definitely looks like a good move, making the same map a little bit different each time you play. Even though it is just a visual feature, it should affect the repetitiveness in each map, which can be an issue for a number of players.
The variations will change depending where the fronts of the factions are located. As the narrator says in the trailer, if the Dominion front is located in Valkenheim, then all the maps will feature Valkenheim variations, with sparse vegetation and snow. If the front is located in Mire, all the maps will feature hot and humid weather, with jungle-inspired trees.
At launch, there will be 12 multiplayer maps, and each one will feature 4 to 6 different variations. In total, there should be around 60 map variations. We can also expect this feature for all upcoming DLC maps that will be released in the future.
For Honor closed beta has finished recently, and hopefully you had a chance to test your favorite heroes in different battle scenarios. The beta featured 9 playable heroes in three game modes – Dominion, Brawl and Duel. Upon official release, we will have 12 playable maps and 12 different heroes to play with in 5 game modes. Each hero has his own fighting style, armor, weapons, progression and skills.
For Honor is set to release on the 14th of February 2017 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
