Tekken 7 Vampire Eliza Added as Pre-Order DLC Character

Namco Bandai announced another character coming to Tekken 7. It’s the vampire Eliza, making a comeback from Tekken Revolutions. Developers have been pretty skiddish about DLC, especially considering Katsuhiro Harada said he would like to avoid it. Still, if Eliza plays as awesome as it seems, it’ll be worth it.

Eliza is one of the fan favorite characters from Tekken Revolutions. Since she is a vampire, she can suck the blood of her enemies. Interestingly, feeding on blood made her breasts grow. Whether or not this is a tactical advantage in the game remains unclear.

You can check out Eliza’s character trailer below.

You can get the narcoleptic vampire Eliza as a bonus character if you pre-order Tekken 7. However, if you don’t pre-order, you’ll still be able to get her as paid DLC. This has caused a bit of an uproar in the Tekken fan community, especially after the delay of the Tekken 7 release date. Katsuhiro Harada, the game’s executive producer, has mentioned several times that he’s not a fan of DLC. However, likely due to pressure from fans and Namco Bandai higher-ups, DLC characters are coming to Tekken 7

Now, fans are arguing about whether paid DLC characters will create an imbalance in the game, making it pay-to-win. In other fighting games, characters that you have to pay additionally for are often overpowered. This could pose a serious problem in Tekken, which is all about technicality, precision and balance.

Some players are afraid that they won’t even be able to train against Eliza, which would present an unfair advantage for those who have her. Mortal Kombat X worked around that by letting you train against DLC characters, you just couldn’t play as them. Although, if we’re being realistic, training AI is usually way too easy for pro players to get any accurate estimation.

Tekken 7 will come out on June 2nd for the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Training against a character has nothing to do with AI. It’s about crush counters, tracking test, mixup test and of course, frame data. There is only one way to understand how to behavior against a character: put him to do some of his best mixup and try to deal with it in training mode.
