Death Stranding May Feature Stefanie Joosten as Cast Member
Death Stranding, Hideo Kojima’s new horror game, already features an all-star cast. We got to see Norman Reedus, Guillermo Del Toro, and Mads Mikkelsen as characters in the game’s trialers. Now, it seems that Stefanie Joosten, of Metal Gear Solid V fame, might be joining the roster.
Stefanie Joosten first rose to video game prominence recently, playing the character of Quiet in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. She lent her likeness and voice to Quiet, and also provided vocals for the song Quiet’s Theme. The newest rumor, however, is that she might be collaborating with Kojima again, on his new horror project. Death Stranding is Kojima’s first game after leaving Konami to their pachinko machines.
Joosten recently visited Guerrilla Games’ studio, who are working with Kojima Productions on the game. This set the rumor mill abuzz, since this might be a sign of her joining the cast. We don’t know anything for certain yet, but we’ll keep you posted.
The rest of the Death Stranding cast already features several prominent horror names. We have Norman Reedus of The Walking Dead fame, of course. Then, there’s director Guillermo Del Toro, who wrote and directed such horror and dark fantasy movies as The Devil’s Backbone and Pan’s Labyrinth. Finally, we have Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen, who rose to international fame as Dr. Hannibal Lecter in the TV show Hannibal.
A strong cast is important for a horror game. We all remember the stellar voice acting in early Resident Evil and how it could pull players out of the experience. The rest of Death Stranding, however, is veiled in mystery. The trailers only serve to pose more questions without giving any answers. I’m looking forward to this title, a lot.
The release date of Death Stranding is still TBA, but we do know that, for now, it’s coming only to the PlayStation 4.
