Final Fantasy XV Unannounced Expansion In Development
Director of Final Fantasy XV, Hajime Tabata, announced that the FFXV team is developing new material for an “awesome new expansion“. This is in addition to all the DLCs they’re already working on. Fans of the game certainly have a lot to be happy about.
Final Fantasy 15 turned out to be a huge success, selling more than 6 million copies. Sure, the game isn’t exactly perfect, especially the infamous Chapter 13. However, Square Enix hasn’t stopped working on it. They’re planning to patch the story, including the infamous chapter, and add more content. There are also four story DLCs in store, each centering around one of the protagonists. The goal of all the updates is to enhance and enrich the lore and universe inside the game.
The freshest new thing in Final Fantasy 15 is the Chocobo Carnival DLC, beginning on January 24th. It will be a part of the Final Fantasy XV January updates. Hte DLC will feature a carnival full of carnival games for players to enjoy.
On top of all of that, it seems that Tabata and crew are working on even more than they announced. In his interview with Famitsu, he mentioned the “awesome new expansion” that they’re developing. That’s all we know about it so far, but we’ll keep you posted as soon as we find out more. Additionally, Tabata mentioned that all of the upcoming DLCs are just groundwork for future FFXV development. It’s inspiring to see a big-name publisher working so hard on improving a game that we all know had to be rushed.
Knowing the usual Square Enix business model, future Final Fantasy 15 development will probably include sequels of some kind. This has been their standard for years now, and I doubt they’ll change it now.
Final Fantasy xv is available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Check back in for further news on the updates
