UPDATE: There’s a newspaper in the room adjacent to the dining room you wake up in, the one with the grandfather clock. It’s on the table by the couch. Another one can be found in the main hall, on a table next to the scorpion door.
You’ll find a memo on the table in the recreation room, right next to the pool table. It’s a handwritten note about one of the kidnapping victims.
ORIGINAL TEXT: Whether they’re ancient letters, diary excerpts or old editions of the Dulvey Daily, these documents will help you piece together what had been happening in the Baker mansion over the past few decades. Some of what you’ll find are just rumors, meant to show the public opinion of the Bakers’, while others are authentic and truthful. Both kinds will help you get a better grasp of the situation, so if you’re in it for the story, you should try to get them all. On the other hand, they offer no tangible advantage over your enemies, so if you don’t care that much for the plot, you could just skip looking for them. Reading isn’t exactly the first thing to come to mind when you’re being chased by a bunch of lunatics.
As with the other collectibles, the files are scattered throughout the mansion. You’ll find them in many different places – some in plain sight, like on a table top, others well hidden, like in a hidden compartment of a desk. Sometimes you’ll mistake them for junk – the house is in total disrepair, and finding scattered papers that mean nothing isn’t odd. After a while, you might start writing off actual files as garbage without a second glance. Getting them all won’t be easy, that’s for sure.
