How to unlock secret doors in FFXV dungeons

You can get the key once you’ve beat the game – all you need is patience. When you return to Lucis, you’ll need to go to Risorath Basin, in the northernmost part of the map. Once there, talk to Ezma, the old lady sitting on a porch. Prerequisite to be able to start the quest with Ezma is to beat the game and also finish all the optional dungeons in the game first – Balouve Mines, Crestholm Channels, Daurell Caverns, and Costlemark Tower. She’ll tell you all about the terrible things in those dungeons and give you the dungeon seal key. This will begin the Menace Beneath Lucis quest, which will make you revisit almost all of the dungeons and explore their deeper levels.

The lower levels hide dungeons within dungeons are very high-level – the easiest one is lvl 55, while the hardest is lvl 99. Here’s a full list, along with level requirements:
  • Keycatrich Trench dungeon, lvl 55
  • Greyshire Glacial Grotto dungeon, lvl 65
  • Fociaugh Hollow dungeon, lvl 65
  • Daurell Caverns dungeon, lvl 72
  • Balouve Mines dungeon, lvl 78
  • Steyliff Grove dungeon, lvl 86
  • Crestholm Channels dungeon, lvl 92
  • Costlemark Tower dungeon, lvl 99
The lower layers represent an extra challenge for people who’ve already beaten the game, but want more of it. They’re filled with high level enemies, good loot, a tough boss, some consumables and a shiny new weapon at the end. Finishing the complete set might give you more insight into the history of Lucis, but we wouldn’t count on it. From the look of it, they’re just there to provide end-game content.

Some of you on here are very rude … Playing FF XV should have exercised your patience and levels of tolerance … Try using that patience with others who are having trouble figuring out the game . After all , these forums are supposed to be helpful , unless you have nothing better to do than to insult others and show how childish you can be … SMH ….

Can you do a video on how exactly you get across the the gap to let down the ladder leading to seal 3, Daurell? Been searching for hrs!!

Come back at the night, the monsters there will reappear. At the end of fight, warp to the balcony. Wait to the battle is over, you will stand on that small balcony, then you can drop the ladder. Have fun!!

      Wljult

Just trigger some mob and press triangle button to warp up there in the battle, dont go down, just let the team battle for you, when the enemies die, then you can go lower the stair

You should look in the area where you fight the boss. There should be a ladder to a lower room between a wall and one of the fences down there

At the end of the fight, Warp (hold triangle) to the balcony and drop the ladder.

Hi all, I did all of the dungeons (without quests, just walked in and fought my way through and killed the respective boss).

Ezma still doesn’t give me the quest.

    I also finished the game.

    Any tips?

    1. Have you found all the secret doors inside the dungeons as well?

    2. J
      JugemJugem

Did the “complete” thing show up? I’m not exactly sure, but the quests might have been necessary. In my case, I did all of the dungeons, including the 4 optional ones, whilst taking the quest for each dungeon, found some of the secret doors (not all), and completed the game. Good luck!

      Wljult

Do all the dungeon, kill the dungeon boss, there are 8 dungeon, finish all of them then you will be able to trigger the quest

To open the quest, firstly you need to visit all of those doors. Then you’ll get quest mark on the map to get the key.

      Drrickmarshall

Visit the door = try to open them?

Also only of those 4 dungeons or all?

whoever designed the flying car, needs to be fired…

How so? Just because it looks a bit awkward with those huge fins on the bottom? It stay’s pretty true to the air ship models from previous games (for a tiny car that is).
It’s the regular Regalia is got issues with.. the wheels that far in to the front…

pretty sure he meant landing/taking off…. god this pisses me off too

        1. J
          jmulholland94

I’m pretty sure it couldn’t have turned out any different if they tried to “fix” it. It couldn’t be easier. Unless you want the damn thing to land FOR you.
You go close to a road, hold X/A when the prompt pops up, and slowly lower the car while it’s un-transforming, land and AUTOBOTS, ROLL OUT!

        Zalos

Modeled after the Dodge Charger Concept 2007, wheels are not too far. 😛

All the lines are of maserati even the way they write regalia on it is the writings of maserati.

The emblem of the maserati is also a trident… Wow ypu sure know a lot about car.

Worth noting, the trigger for the lady to give you the key isn’t just beat the game. You have to have completed all dungeons. I haven’t finished costlemark and she is just carrying on casual conversation with me.

      Abamo

I don’t get you, you are complaining because you haven’t read the article? “Prerequisite to be able to start the quest with Ezma is to beat the game and also finish all the optional dungeons in the game first – Balouve Mines, Crestholm Channels, Daurell Caverns, and Costlemark Tower. ” How stupid are you?

I’ve done all the dungeons you said and still haven’t gotten the quest. Do I have to clear all the levels in the Balouve Mines?

      Jake

Ah. I missed the Daurell Caverns. Thanks!

Do you know of any prereqs for this? I beat the game and have all of the weapons, but she doesn’t have a quest.

    2. B
      Ben

For the optional dungons you have to make sure you have visited them all AND done the side quest that involves killing the moster at the end of it
