Elder Scrolls Online Playstation 4 Free Weekend

Bethesda have just announced that Elder Scrolls Online will be free to play this weekend on Playstation 4. You’ll need a lot of space on your console, but no subscription. There are some discounts planned, as well as a sweepstakes with some nice prizes. Read on to find out the details.


The weekend even will unlock on November 16th 12:01 AM EST, to give you enough time to download the massive game before the weekend. Here’s what you need to do:

1. Find Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited in the PSN store.
2. Download the game (it requires around 70GB of free space).
3. Create an ESO account.
4. Start playing.

You don’t need a Playstation Plus subscription in order to try out the game. Although, if you decide to purchase it after the event, you’ll need PS Plus. You’ll have access to the full game (minus DLC content), and everything you do will be tied to your account. If you buy it afterwards (it will be discounted till the event ends), you’ll be able to pick up where you left off. Finally, you’ll get 500 crowns – the premium currency used to buy cosmetic items, pets and boosts from the item store.

If you’re already a player, you’ll be happy to know that Crown packs will be on sale while the event takes place. There’s also a sweepstakes with some great rewards – 5 exotic journeys with full expenses paid, plus a bunch bags of 1000 crown each. Pretty much everything you need to do is play the game during the free weekend (regardless of whether you own it or not) and sign up on their website.

If you’ve bought a PS4 Pro, you can look forward to improved graphics in Elder Scrolls Online – out of the box 4K support, better ambient occlusion and water reflections, as well as improved shadow fidelity.
