Snap Freeze Sorcery | Dark Souls 3: Ashes of Ariandel
Snap Freeze is a newly added sorcery in the first Dark Souls 3 DLC: Ashes of Ariandel. It creates a cloud of near-freezing mist.
To reach this part of the DLC, you first have to find the Ariandel Chapel. A long, wooden bridge leads to this building. As it usually is with long wooden bridges in Dark Souls, you can collapse it. Do it from the chapel side. Once it is destroyed, an option to descend will appear. Use the ladder to go down. From here, you’ll need to find your way to the bottom of the zone. The large roots used for that purpose are also home to several enemies. At the end of this route, there is a large, dark enemy. He will shoot exploding arrows toward you. This makes descending to the ground level a bit more challenging.
Now we are on the ground floor. Go to your left from here, toward the giant crabs. Keep to your left once you’re behind them. There is a narrow pathway you should go through. Watch out for the tree enemies. At the end of the road, there is a crying tree. If you make this tree move, by drawing its attention, it will reveal the whereabouts of the Snap Freeze spell.
One of the spells left behind by the young sorcerer Sulyvahn before leaving the Painted World. Creates a cloud of near-freezing mist.
Sulyvahn was born and raised inside the painting, yet had little use for his frigid homeland, since he had not yet experienced loss.
