Final Fantasy XV Regalia Type-F Trailer
Square Enix have released a new trailer for Final Fantasy XV, in which they show off the Regalia Type-F. It’s the flying car Noctis and his buddies will be using to traverse the vast open world.
The video is pretty simple – it shows the marvelously animated, elegant transformation from car to glider to jet plane.
Near the end, it also transforms back into a car and lands effortlessly onto the highway. The roof comes down as well, which is probably not the greatest idea, considering how much time the protagonists have to spend fixing their hair afterwards.
This kind of promotional video obviously isn’t going to win anyone over, but it doesn’t have to. It was made for existing fans of the series, to warm them up to the idea of driving a sleek, black sedan across the country. We have no idea how the car is going to fit in – is it going to replace chocobos entirely? Or exist alongside them? Why would anyone ride a chocobo if they’ve got a fancy, dark limo?
Final Fantasy XV is going to launch on September 30th, on Xbox One and Playstation 4. Nobody’s mentioning a PC version yet, but it’s safe to assume it’s going to happen at some point – all the others have, after all.
