Deus Ex Mankind Divided Breach Mode Announced
Square Enix have announced an additional game mode of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Breach will be a self-contained experience, existing alongside the campaign.
It will allow you to play in smaller spaces and compare your success to that of your friends.
In terms of context, all is explained by saying it’s a bunch of VR challenges. You strap the goggles on, dive into the void and lead an avatar made of golden triangles. You steal information, fight against security protocols and enjoy a “puzzle shooter experience”. You get Praxis points for winning, which can then be used to upgrade your Ripper (the golden person). Your scores are uploaded to a leaderboard, so you can compete with others.
Abilities and items will be represented with cards, because it’s 2016 and everything has to be represented with cards. Said cards will be obtained through play, but you’ll also be able to buy them with real money. The developers claim they wanted everyone to be able to compete without spending money, so the microtransactions shouldn’t be a problem. The shop will offer booster packs and cosmetic items.
