Far Harbor Settlement Locations - Push Back the Fog | Fallout 4
Far Harbor DLC for Fallout 4 has new settlements for you to discover and liberate. Finding three of them also unlocks the Push Back the Fog achievement/trophy.
The following steps are required to unlock this settlement:
This settlement doesn’t offer too much space, but you have a nice house and some land to grow crops on. Since it has walls it is easy to defend with turrets and traps. Overall, not a bad place to make home.
As part of the initial Far Harbor quest you will have to talk to Old Longfellow. He is in the Last Plank bar. Follow him to Acadia and once you arrive you will unlock his cabin as a settlement. It is probably the largest area to build on. Lots of wood scrap if you need it and access to water. It would be a shame to pester Old Lonfellow with settlers, but good land is hard to find.
This guide will show the locations of all new settlements in Far Harbor as well as discuss some pros and cons as we did in our guide for settlement locations in the base version of the game.
National Park’s Visitors Center settlement
The following steps are required to unlock this settlement:
- Finish one of the initial quests in Far Harbor.
- Get a quest from Teddy called Rite of Passage.
- Complete this quest and do the Captain’s Dance to get The Changing Tide
- Part of The Changing Tide is to talk to Mitch, who is located in the bar.
- The Hold Out quest is about searching for Mitch’s uncle Ken and takes you to National Park’s Visitors Center.
- As you talk to Uncle Ken you’ll get access to the settlement’s workshop.

Echo Lake Lumber
How to free Echo Lake Lumber – Turn Back the Fog quest
- Complete one of the two initial quests and help Teddy.
- Once you do the Captain’s Dance you will get The Changing Tide quest that requires you to help Small Bertha (She can be found in and around the bar).
- She gives you the quest Turn Back the Fog that leads you toward the Echo Lake Lumber location.
- Dispose of feral ghouls coming out of the lake and an NPC named Malcom will approach you.
- You will probably end up killing him and return to Bertha to let her know that Echo Lake Lumber is now free for settlement.
- Once you complete the conversations with her you will be able to use the workshop at the settlement.
Echo Lake Lumber settlement
This settlement is interesting because it has a row of bleachers overlooking the nearby lake. This is a good spot for defense as well as starting water production. You also have a large structure to keep you settlers warm in and enough land to grow crops on. Lots of wood and metal scrap is available since this was a lumber mill. All in all a good place to have a large settlement in.Dalton Farm
To unlock Dalton Farm settlement all you need to do is complete several parts of the quest Blood tide (you get it from Cassie Dalton in Far Harbor). The settlement is located on the beach so you can make yourself a nice little summer retreat there (if you don’t mind the irradiated fog and mutated sea creatures). It already has some crops and water production going. Not much to be found in scrap, but it provides a large piece of land for you to play with.Longfellow’s Cabin
The building across the road when you walk in the gate. It’s around behind it.
I must be blind because I’ve scoured Echo Lumber and cannot find the workbench anywhere. I’ve got settlers there and have built a few things, but I can’t locate the workbench to store stuff in. WTH is it??
It’s to the left if you’re behind the main building looking towards the bleachers, against the wall of the building. If you head around the building between it and the bleachers from the front and turn right immediately when you get behind the building, it will be there.
use a workbench m8
Just revisited the site… jfc made huge mistake meant crafting station you can use transfer or equiv word… fyi workbench has been obsolite by POV key and crafting stations.
