Great Scythe | Dark Souls 3
Great Scythe is a weapon in Dark Souls 3. This is a reaper’s weapon that has an additional effect in the form of bleed build-up.
The Closest Bonfire: Dilapidated Bridge
Attacks with this large scythe, normally used for crop harvesting, are effective at breaking past shields.
The magnificent sharp curved blade instills fear in opponents. Perhaps it is their survival instinct at work.
Skill: Neck Swipe. This attack aims for the scruff of a foe’s neck, and when successful, functions as a head shot, inflicting heavy damage.
The scythe has great range, with several swinging and swiping attacks. With it, dealing with groups is less of a problem than ever. Every hit causes bleed build-up, which makes it great for taking down tougher enemies as well. The description implies it’s good at breaking blocks, but we haven’t noticed any difference compared to other weapons.
It scales well with dexterity and strength. You can find it fairly early on in the game. This guide will show you how to get Great Scythe in Dark Souls 3, its stats and what it looks like.

- Inside this house, on a small balcony is where the Great Scythe can be found. Go up to the first floor. The ground up there is ruined. You’ll have to make a short jump or dodge to make it to the small area from where the item is reachable.

The effect regarding shields refers to the scythe having shield piercing qualities on its attacks. Not sure of the exact percentage, but some of the damage from all of its attacks will bypass a guard. Great for chipping out turtles who get too comfortable behind their shields.
