Overwatch Post-launch Heroes and Maps Will Be Free
In a recent community update video, Blizzard’s Jeff Kaplan (the game director for Overwatch) announced that all maps and heroes they add to the game after launch will come as free updates for anyone who bought the game. They have no plans for selling them as DLC – when you buy the game, you get everything there is to get.
During Blizzcon, they were surprised to hear people asking about post-launch support, and their answers at that time sparked some debate about the possibility of future heroes being paid-for DLC.
All that remains to be seen is can Overwatch actually make it in, or is the scene already saturated with team-based shooters. The game should be out at some point during Spring 2016, but a firm release date hasn’t been set yet.

In an interview with Eurogamer, Kaplan clarified that their answers at the show were lacking not because they were trying to avoid the question, but simply due to the fact they haven’t really made up their minds on the subject.
