Drop Zone Game Mode Detailed | Star Wars: Battlefront
A new game mode for Star Wars: Battlefront has been revealed today. It’s called Drop Zone, and it’s a riff on the age-old theme of capturing vital points across the map, then holding them until you’ve won.
The newly announced mode pits two teams of eight players in a battle of territorial control.
It’s supposed to be a fast and action packed experience, with no room for camping. When a pod is captured, it will open up, revealing a Power Pickup. Deciding whether to hang around and wait for the pickup or run to the next point will play a big part in your strategy.
The developers claim gadgets like turrets and droids will play a large part in this game mode as well, either by enhancing your abilities or providing light-weight autonomous defence. Each planet will have its own Drop Zone map.
Star Wars: Battlefront is due for release on November 17th, on Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC.

There’s will be pods dropping from the sky, and the goal will be to capture and hold all of them. A team wins when they have control of every pod, or, if that doesn’t happen, the team with the most pods after 10 minutes claims victory.
