Superior Wolf Gear is the tier three upgrade for the Wolven armor and weapons in The Witcher 3. In order to get it, you first need to download a free DLC with the items, then find the diagrams, craft and upgrade it.

You’ll need to get the basic Wolf School Gear and Enhanced Wolf Gear before you can upgrade to this one. It requires a level 29 character. In this guide, we’re going to show you how to get the diagrams for Superior Wolven Gear, what their new stats look like and which ingredients you’ll need to perform the upgrade.
We have also prepared for you the following guides:
In the southeastern part of the main Skellige Isle, west of Fyresdal fast travel point, within a lvl 13 Harpy monster nest. This monster nest is a small wooden fortress. In order to acquire the Superior Wolven Armor diagram you have to climb on its wall. There is a small climb spot right from where you enter the fortress. Once you are on the wall, go to the other side of it and loot the contents of the chest.

Superior Wolven Silver Sword
We are at the main Skellige Isle again, this time in the southwestern part. Southeast of the Arinbjorn fast travel point is an area with lots of small round tombs. Following the small road from Arinjorn you’ll come in contact with the first of three tombs. Inside it, left from where you enter is the small, green chest with the diagram.
Enter here.
Turn left and loot the small chest.

Superior Wolven Steel Sword
Head to the Lofoten fast travel point on the easternmost island in The Skellige Isles map. West from there, on the higher ground, within the stone ruins where the lvl 26 Rabid rock Troll resides lies the Superior Wolven Steel Sword diagram.
Once at the ruins, find a crack in the floor that will take you underground. Inside this area you’ll find a room filled with explosive, poisonous gas. Use the Igni sing to clear the area of it. Once you enter the room head diagonally left from the entrance toward the corner. Loot the diagram and leave the room ASAP – the poisonous gas comes back rather quickly.

Superior Wolven Gauntlets
Go to Kaer Morhen. Following the road southwest of the main fortress, you should come to Iron Mine and its fast travel point. There is a level 30 Earth Elemental inside the largest room in the mine. In the same room, to the right from where you enter, is the small shrine with the tiny chest that contains the Wolven Gauntlets Diagram. You don’t have to fight the Earth Elemental. If you go into combat with it, simply pull back until it gives up. Run in and loot the chest.

Superior Wolven Boots
Head to the river south of Kaer Morhen. Follow it toward the east. There is a large cave entrance, east of Kaer Morhen’s main fortress. As you enter the cave head right through its tunnels. Inside its largest room you’ll find a bunch of level 9 Endrega Workers. Within the same room, you’ll see a formation of stalagmites. The chest is behind them.
Enter the cave.
Turn right.

Superior Wolven Trousers
Follow the road that takes you from Kaer Morhen main fortress toward the northwest. This long road will lead you to an ancient cave. The chest with the diagram is close to the end of this cave, behind a large pillar, tucked alongside the small stalagmites.
Enter the small cave.
The chest is well hidden behind this rock formation.

Superior Wolf Gear Stats
All set pieces except the chest armor require a Journeyman armorer or blacksmith in order to be crafted. The chest armor has to be made by a Master Armorer. The stats below show the difference between the Superior and Enhanced version of the set. The most significant difference is the +5% critical chance that both Superior weapons bring to the table.
Can someone please explain to me how I’m 300 hrs into this stupid game, (yes, I methodically scoured every in” of the map & fell asleep alot) haven’t left Valen/Novigrad yet, NOT ONCE…and yet some how i have both superior & master wolven armour diagrams? Also, I have the same with the Ursine sets but, NO basic or enhanced for either., except ONLY the enhanced wolven boots, no basic, no gloves, chest, etc…all by itself. Fine you’re supposed to get basic wolven ay Kear morhen towords the end…maybe i can get that but how the f@#k do i have the upper levels ursine/wolven just from exploring the main map. Even better now I cant finish the feline armour cuz from the 3 places listed here to get the steel, silver sword, then the armour..I got sent to a fourth place recieved only the trousers & gloves then was sent to the last place with the elemental to kill to supposedly get the just the chest piece & nothing but random crap was in the box. Youre supossed to get the basic bear maps from the amourer in Oxenfurt?…I didn’t get a damn thing from that guy. He has NO MAPS …so, now im screwed out of 2 lines of armour, possibly 3 and so far the griffon set is going ok but, WTF? I’m to be stuck with only 1 crap armour set for the whole game!!!??? I cant believe how colossaly BAD this game is laid out. Its an unmitigated DISASTER. not only do you get punished for exploring out in the open world (completely negating the reason for its existence in the 1st place) but, god forbid you do a quest out order cuz youll be completely F#@cked there as well. And people complain about skyrim? Yah, my ass,… there was NOTHING in that game you couldnt in some way (provided u have an IQ) work around if you ran into trouble. But, not CDPR’s masterpiece. NOPE everything is directionly forced, scripted, cornering and completely unforgiving. This game sucks.
It doesn’t really matter in which order you have the diagrams or the maps. You’ll need the basic gear to upgrade it anyway. The first one you can get is the Feline one. And then, either you get the maps or find the diagram by just exploring doesn’t matter. You can upgrade it once you crafted the basic gear. The diagrams are all around the map it DOESN’T MATTER in which order you get them.
I repeat myself a lot because it seems like you can’t understand something as simple as that.
I’ve got the ursine superior steel sword diagram even if I didn’t even gte a map or diagram of the basic one. It doesn’t change the game, I just have to find the basic and enhanced before I can use the superior diagram.
A much easier way to get the Wolven Steel Sword in the cave full of poisonous gas is by using ‘Golden Oriole’ potion or any of it’s upgrades as it makes you immune to poison effects for it’s duration. That way you can collect all the chests in that room.
Yeah fuk i already was at kaer muire and when you are there to find the druid i ended up killing them all except druid obviously so lol i cant get the map
Does anyone know where to get the master crafted wolf set?
So far I’ve only found the chest armor, it’s for lvl 34 and is found in Velen, but can’t find the rest.
There are two wolf signs at that location – one just outside the cave and one a few steps into the tunnel. The one outside is more of a historical marker, as that location is where the first wolf school witchers were created before the fortress was built. The one inside the cave should trigger your map highlight. (And the chest is toward the back, on the left side hidden behind some stalagmites.)
I agree with Ghostkingkhaos, I was not able to pick up the “quest” and I found the silver sword in the last tomb at the dead end. Tomb has a red and black shield near the green box.
Just a heads up, I think the silver sword has the possibility of being in any of the three, unless the map for it is wrong. For me, it was in the bottom-most tomb

For the Superior Wolven Steel Sword just use a Golden Oriole potion.
Part 3 and 6 of the maps are now both located at Kaer Trolde
That is not where the superior wolven silver sword is. It is in the circle tomb on the end, not the one you indicated.

This is a good tip. After dying a couple of times trying to follow the instructions, I used this method. Would be good to add this to the walk through

I found boots upgrade on one of the skellige islands west from the main island. In the fortress full of pirates.
Also watch out for those dirty ass harpies! Nothing better than getting harpie shit on your head!

i find the “wolf” sign in cave at Kaer Morhen, but can’t interact with it. Therefore can’t find chest! C’mon CDPR, give us a chance!
