Over the Hill Announced - Off-Roading Adventure By Art of Rally Developers
Funselektor made a super stylish looking indie rally racing game called Art of Rally. Together with Strelka Games they’ve just announced a new project they’re working on and it’s called Over the Hill. Over the Hill will be an off-road exploration driving game. You’ll be going across terrain with no roads in sight. The game takes you on a trek across multiple biomes connected via portals. You’ll be able to enjoy serene environments, but also discover secrets and hidden objectives and challenges. All of this will be happening with recognizable, beautiful, minimalistic graphics fans of Art of Rally know all too well.
What is Over the Hill?
In Over the Hill you and up to three of your friends will be driving iconic offroad vehicles from the 1960s to the 1980s. There are challenging trails and beautiful scenery to conquer while making your way through biomes inspired by real-world locations – from valleys to mountains and everything in between. And you can bet there’ll be lots of mud. The game features dynamic day-and-night cycles and changing weather, creating an immersive experience. Players can roam the land with their vehicle, discovering Portals that link different stunning environments and unlocking new areas to navigate. Proper vehicle preparation is essential for this journey.
Dune Casu, founder of Funselektor, had this to say about Over the Hill and wanting to do things a bit differently this time:
After having developed several games about motorsport, we wanted to go off-track by offering players a vast world to lose themselves at a slower pace. In a way, this game is similar to the experience I’ve had journeying across North America in my trusty camper van. There’s something special about being in the wilderness in the middle of nowhere, from the peace, the sounds of nature and less distraction from the civilized world. I hope this game can really drive that feeling home.
Over the Hill is set to release later this year on Steam. You can watch the announcement trailer below or wishlist Over The Hill on Steam.
