AFK Journey Launches on PC, iOS and Android

AFK Journey is the new free-to-play fantasy RPG from Farlight Games, the creators of Call of Dragons and Dislyte. You can play it on PC via the official website or on iOS and Android via their respective app stores. And, yes, this is the sequel to the massive hit, AFK Arena. If that one was your cup of tea, odds are good that you’ll love AFK Journey, too. So, let’s get into some of what the game has to offer, shall we?

For one, the art style of AFK Journey is updated from AFK Arena. The developers call it “live canvas,” aka “a picture book brought to life.” And it is a pretty good-looking game. Second, the game does have AFK elements, which means you can do other stuff while the characters do the grinding on their own. You don’t have to bother with leveling up and gathering resources. However, the tactics and strategy are up to you: choose your characters carefully and organize them in the optimal formation, lest the enemies wipe them out. There are many different heroes you’ll be able to meet and recruit across the world of Esperia. Naturally, some faces will be familiar to those that have played Arena.

Last, but definitely not least, AFK Journey is a cross-platform title. By that, I mean that you can play on your mobile device and then smoothly switch to your PC when you get home. Or just play it on your phone or tablet, whatever you prefer. And as far as upgrades from Arena go, aside from the style update, you can also experience “a dynamic world to explore” and “full voice acting during cutscenes.” Naturally, AFK Journey is a live service, meaning that it will have a steady flow of new content. The devs expect the first drop to be on May 2024, and they plan to keep it at a roughly quarterly basis.
